50 Platforms to Launch Your Digital Product
Published July 2026 • 10 min read
I've launched on every major platform. Here's what actually works — ranked by ROI (Return on Effort).
Want the full list with URLs and launch tips? It's included in
The Solo Maker Launch Kit along with templates, calculators, and the 7-day checklist.
Tier 1: High ROI (Do These First)
- HIGH Product Hunt — Still the king for digital products. Launch on Tuesday at 12:01 AM PT. Prep 2 weeks in advance.
- HIGH Twitter/X (Build in Public) — Thread format works best. Show the process, not just the product.
- HIGH Indie Hackers — Post in "Show IH" group. The community loves supporting solo makers.
- HIGH Reddit (targeted subreddits) — r/SideProject, r/Entrepreneur, r/webdev. Read rules. Lead with value, not sales.
- HIGH Hacker News (Show HN) — Best for technical/dev tools. Post at 8 AM PT on weekdays.
- HIGH Your Email List — Even 50 subscribers beats 5,000 random visitors. Start collecting emails now.
Tier 2: Medium ROI (Worth the Time)
- MED Dev.to — Write a "How I built X" article. Tag relevant topics.
- MED Hashnode — Similar to Dev.to, smaller but engaged audience.
- MED Medium (publications) — Pitch to "Better Marketing" or "The Startup" for massive reach.
- MED LinkedIn — Underrated for B2B products. Post at 8-9 AM on weekdays.
- MED Slack/Discord communities — Join relevant communities, contribute for 2 weeks, then share.
- MED Newsletter sponsorships — Buy a classified ad in a niche newsletter. $50-200 gets you in front of the right people.
Tier 3: Long-Tail (Set and Forget)
- LOW AlternativeTo — Submit your tool. Gets SEO traffic over time.
- LOW SaaSHub — Directory for SaaS tools. Takes 5 min to submit.
- LOW BetaList — For pre-launches. Gets you early users.
- LOW Launching Next — Similar to BetaList. Good for SEO backlinks.
- LOW G2 / Capterra — For more established tools. Review sites drive organic traffic.
The 80/20 Rule
80% of your results will come from 20% of these platforms. For most solo makers, that's:
- Twitter/X threads (build in public)
- 1-2 Reddit communities (genuine contribution)
- Product Hunt (if you nail the launch)
- Your email list (highest conversion rate)
Don't try to be everywhere. Pick 3-4 platforms. Go deep.
Timing Matters
- Twitter/X: 8-10 AM in your audience's timezone
- Product Hunt: Tuesday, 12:01 AM PT
- Hacker News: Weekday mornings, 8 AM PT
- Reddit: Weekday evenings, 6-8 PM
- LinkedIn: Tuesday-Thursday, 8-9 AM
